New ZeeBORN Module Available for Testing

Our demo server has been updated with a new version of the ZeeBORN Maritime Management Solution including a beta version of our new Cashbook module. The Cashbook module has been activated for all demo accounts.

If you don’t have a demo account on our demo server, you can request one at our support team.

As soon as the Cashbook module has reached the release status, all existing customers will get the necessary licenses for the office system and for all sites for free. The actual availability of the module can be controlled in the user management module (just in case you haven’t planned to roll-out the new module to all your sites).

The Translator uses the Google translat server – an Internet connection is required.

Version 10.2.0 build 316 available

A new version is now available on our demo server.

Changes:

All “secret” features in the system (like the Kozlowski Tools) can now be enabled in the User Management module and will no longer require any secret key combination to be pressed. In the user management module we have added a new section called “General > Access to Pre-Release Features” where you can enable all the features that are currently not a part of official production releases.

Please note: These features are still in a pre-release status (in some cases this could be also a pre-alpha-status). They have not passed the final quality checks and shouldn’t be made available to regular users. These features are intended only for persons who are involved into the development process of these features and who are aware of the potential side effects the usage of these features may have on their data. You should be also aware that the systems Administrator automatically gets access to all these features (like any other feature that could be blocked in user management).

Version 10.1.2 build 315 available

A new version of the software solution is available on our demo server.

Changes in this version:

  • Maintenance: The Kozlowski Tools are now partially enabled and still have the following limitations: the Paste function will always perform a copy whether copy or move is selected. In other words: currently it is not possible to perform a real move of spare parts and maintenance jobs that causes the deletion of parts and jobs at the source component. After copying maintenance jobs to another component, these jobs will not be shown in the components document unless the maintenance schedules of the entire ship/site have been calculated.
The Kozlowski Tools still need to be activated with the “secret” key combination and shouldn’t be used in a production environment without extensive testing.

Version 10.1.2 build 312 available

This version is not approved for production systems!

Changes:

  • Maintenance: Automatic detection of store/spare locations in component tree while moving components.
  • Maintenance: Better handling of counter updates and adjustments while moving components (see documentation)
  • Crewing: Default planning limits (min/max sea time, min/max leave time) per rank and ship can be defined in configuration module; values will be shown as default but can be still changed before starting the crew assignments generator.

Known issues:

  • Maintenance: Component edit form: Only base counter value is shown; internal and manual counter adjustments not calculated into shown counter value
  • Maintenance: Automatic activation/deactivation for moved components doesn’t work if moved component has its own counter

Transferring Big Files (> 5 MByte and more)

Sometimes you may want to transfer a file that is bigger in size than the allowed size of your e-mail attachments (or the attachment size accepted by the recipients e-mail server). In this case a FTP server would be a good choice or a web server where you can upload this file. Unfortunately not anybody has access to these services.

We suggest having a look at www.dropbox.com. There you will find a small tool that can be installed on Windows, Linux, Mac and your iPhone and you will be instantly able to transfer files up to a size of 2 GByte. And this for free.

Just give it try.

BTW: this is not a paid ad
