Still using Windows XP? [Poll Closed]

windows_xpFrom time to time we will start a poll for getting a better idea about our customers needs. This time we want to focus on the operating system used by our customers.

Microsoft has already released two new iterations of it’s Windows operating system but many customers are still using Windows XP due to certain reasons. Please answer the following poll for giving us a better idea of the importance of still supporting Windows XP.

Update: The poll is now closed and we have a final result (52 votes total).

In fact we did expect a higher number of existing Windows XP installations. It’s also a surprise to see that Windows Vista makes only 10%.

But in result it still seems to be required that our solutions must be supported on Windows XP as well. We will repeat this poll in about 6 month just to see how the values will change.

This poll misses all the boxes out there still having Windows 2000 or Windows 95 on it. ~10% of my customers are still using it and keeping it until end (of their ships live).

I’m still using Windows XP because it works. The need for a new OS should be application-driven, and as such I will continue to use XP until I have a must-use application that is not supported by XP.
