There are several misleading and concerning news stating an end of support of Windows 7 starting on 14th of January 2015.
We just want to clarify that on 14th of January 2015 Microsoft only stops the so called mainstream support for Windows 7. The only effect of the end of mainstream support for Windows 7 is that Microsoft will no longer release any new features for this version of the operating system. The end of mainstream support does not affect the further delivery of required security related updates and patches via the Windows Update feature within Windows 7.
The security related support of Windows 7 will stop on 14th of January 2020. So there is still enough time to keep on using Windows 7 and to plan an upgrade to a next Windows version.
ZeeBORN still supports (but doesn’t recommend) using the software on Windows XP (see also: Update on Windows XP support) and there are currently no plans to fade out the support for Windows 7.
